Recently, Buckeye’s Recreation Manager, Miranda Gomez was awarded the Young Professional of the Year Award from the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association.
The award was presented at the APRA Annual Awards on August 9. According to APRA’s website, the award recognizes achievements and accomplishments of young professionals in the field of parks and recreation.
“Miranda is one of those incredibly hard working people – passionate and dedicated to the field,” said Robert Wisener, Buckeye’s Conservation and Project Manager. “I’m constantly amazed how she juggles so many competing priorities and consistently shines in everything she tackles.”
Miranda is recognized for her leadership and vision in recreation and in the success of the Buckeye Marathon, which raises funds for the Youth Scholarship Fund. The fund provides scholarships for youth and older adults to participate in recreational programs.
