The Environmental and Sustainability Working Group’s mission is to plan and support implementation of environmental and sustainability initiatives and projects in our Town, to establish strong relationships with all departments and public sector partners and to further increase our local, regional national and international partnerships.

Our Environmental and Sustainability Working Group’s vision is to promote and support environmental and sustainability initiatives and projects in our Town, to increase the quality of life for our employees and citizens and to lead the West Valley in energy efficiency.

2009 Arizona Smart Growth Scorecard
Planning & Zoning staff completed the scorecard which allows municipalities to rank themselves based upon certain sustainability and smart growth criteria. The Town of Buckeye received a score of 82 out of a total of 126 possible points which is a good starting point and provides an opportunity to increase sustainability and overall quality of life for our residents.
