Code Compliance

The Town of Buckeye’s Code Compliance Program promotes the health, safety and welfare of all the citizens.  Part of the program includes protecting neighborhoods from deteriorating conditions.  The Code Compliance Program will have a positive impact on property values, improved quality of life and the advancement of community pride.  It can also mean a decrease in crime and other negative affects on neighborhoods.

 

Residents are encouraged to eliminate any code violations on their property. Residents can report violations by calling Code Compliance Officer Marcia Story, (623) 349-6212 or by sending an e-mail to .  With your help, Buckeye can become one of the best and brightest communities in the Valley.

 

The following is a list of the most common code violations that may be cited through the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) the Town Development Code (TDC) or the Town Code (TC):

1) Weeds/grass can not be over six (6) inches tall on any property.

2) Dead or dry trees, bushes, plants & other vegetation are a fire hazard and must be removed.

3) Accessory structures, including detached garages, fences and walls, must be maintained structurally sound and in good repair.

4) Inoperable, unlicensed and/or abandoned vehicles can not be parked/stored on the property.
Vehicles must appear fully operable including all tires inflated and be currently licensed and
registered. Vehicles can be stored in a carport if the vehicle is covered with a properly
maintained vehicle cover made exclusively for covering vehicles.

5) Windows must be in sound condition, good repair and weather tight.

5) Outside accumulation of rubbish, garbage, discarded construction material, trash, or anything
creating a blighting/unsightly condition on the exterior or interior of a property must be
removed. This includes furniture stored and/or used outdoors that is meant to be for indoor
use only.

7) Commercial vehicles over a two (2) ton gross weight can not be parked in a residential area.

8) In a residential area, recreational vehicles/motor homes can only be parked behind the rear of the front setback line and can not be occupied.
