The City Manager’s Office is responsible to City Council for proper administration of all of the City's daily operations and for implementation of the policies established by the Council. This office also ensures all departments work in alignment with the City’s goals to produce jobs and retail opportunities to support city services, high efficiency, quality customer service, and sound fiscal responsibility.
City Manager - Stephen Cleveland
Stephen Cleveland is the Administrative Officer for the City of Buckeye. Mr. Cleveland was appointed July 1, 2009, and serves at the pleasure of the Buckeye Mayor and City Council as city manager. Mr. Cleveland provides leadership to all departments, but directly oversees five departments - Water Resources, City Clerk, Human Resources, Finance, Economic Development; and three divisions, Marketing and Communications, Construction and Contracts, Intergovernmental Relations.
Mr. Cleveland is an accomplished innovator and creative, dedicated leader with 42 years of public and private service experience. Mr. Cleveland has a Masters degree in Public Administration from Arizona State University; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Services and Public Affairs from the University of Oregon.
Assistant City Manager - Roger Klingler
Roger Klingler joined the City of Buckeye on June 16, 2014. Mr. Klingler oversees seven departments - Community Services, Development Services, Engineering, Information Technology, Public Works, Fire and Police.
Mr. Klingler has been in public service for 30 years. An MPA graduate from Michigan State University, Mr. Klingler recently obtained his Law degree from Arizona State University College of Law.
