May of 2008 began what is referred to as We Are Buckeye, an initiative intended to involve members of the community in the development of a strategic vision for Buckeye.  Under the umbrella of Appreciative Inquiry, stakeholders were identified and a core group of volunteers were gathered to begin the year and a half process.  This core of volunteers known as We Are Buckeye developed interview questions to gather ideas, stories and dreams from people throughout Buckeye.  The interviews were conducted and the results compiled.  After much discussion and review, We Are Buckeye categorized the results into eight topics, each with supporting actions items.  In each of the six Council districts 'Mini-Summits" were held to validate the findings of the interviews.  Community members ranked the eight topics by priority.  The results were then compiled into three major goals.  These goals were not created or suggested by the Town administrators or the volunteers participating in the We Are Buckeye project.  They emerged from the interview process of Buckeye citizens.
