What’s Going On at the Center?
We offer a complete program of social, recreational and educational opportunities for members of our community, featuring a robust and active Senior Program held on the premises Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Special Interest Classes on a variety of topics for seniors.
Exercise and Fitness Programs at the Center offer seniors and adults (must be at least 18 years of age) access to exercise equipment from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday. The equipment includes 2 treadmills, a stationary bike, and a multi-use gym.
The Computer Lab/Reading Room is available to Senior Program participants from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday.
Rent the Community Center for special events, such as weddings or anniversary receptions, birthday or graduation parties, or any other social occasion. Staff is available to assist you with your reservation, setup plans and answer any questions you may have. For more information about renting the Buckeye Community Center, please call 623-349-6600.
The Senior Program Is a Blast
This is the place for seniors to play with their friends, learn a new skill, pursue a favorite hobby, and generally have a good time. We’ve designed the Senior Program with special activities and services intended just for them, including social events, monthly outings, exercise classes, and a whole lot more.
Arts & Crafts classes are free every Monday at 9:30am; supplies are provided.
Cards & Games are going every day during Senior Program hours. Come join the fun, meet new friends, and maybe teach us how to play your favorite game.
Bingo is played every Wednesday & Friday, for those of you who love the excitement of winning.
Texas Hold’em poker games are held every Tuesday of every month.
Health Presentation & Discussions are held once a month. Learn to eat right, wellness topics and Medicare issues are just a few of the helpful presentations.
Silver Sneakers is the nation’s leading fitness program offering customized classes designed to improve range of movement and muscular strength exclusively for older adults.
Classes & Clubs include a Reading program, Basic Computer classes, the Buckeye Blanketeers quilting club, and Crocheting with Carolyn
Library & Reading Programs offered through our own Library include large print books for seniors, a variety of books and magazines for your reading pleasure, and “The Joy of Reading Program,” where seniors can sign up to win prizes and receive free gifts while having fun reading.
Monthly Senior Outings are scheduled each month throughout the valley and surrounding areas. Outings include: Arizona Casino trips, shopping, movies, musicals & plays, mystery trips, and much more. Pick up a copy of our Senior Program newsletter at the Buckeye Community Center.
Additional Special Events are planned each month just for seniors.
