Impressive water tower display returns to Coyote Library

Post Date:08/15/2018 11:31 am

Buckeye residents will get a first-hand look at how much water the average person uses each day, thanks to the Water Use It Wisely Tower on display throughout the month of September at the Coyote Library, 21699 W. Yuma Road.

The 16-foot tall pyramid is designed to help people understand their average daily water use both indoors and outdoors. The display is made up of 120 one-gallon water jugs and creates a great visualization of a “typical” amount of water used by people each day in the desert. Tower of 120 one gallon water jugs

On average, one person uses 120 gallons:

  • 65 gallons of water outdoors for landscape watering, pools, etc.
  • 27 gallons for showers, baths and flushing toilets
  • 21 gallons for using faucets and cleaning (clothes washers, dishwashers, etc.)
  • 7 gallons for other uses (drinking, etc.)

This is the second time the pyramid is on display in Buckeye, thanks to the city’s Water Resources Department’s partnership with Water Use It Wisely.

Come visit the display and pick up some important water conservation information to learn how you can reduce your water use.
