William Kauppi is Buckeye’s New Chief Financial Officer
William (Bill) E. Kauppi was recently selected as the city of Buckeye’s first Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Kauppi’s previous experience includes 16 years as the Management Services Director for the town of Prescott Valley.
During his time in Prescott Valley, Kauppi managed all financial accounting for the town, analyzed current financial trends, performed financial forecasting, bond acquisition and management and developed the town’s annual budget.
Kauppi is also experienced with Community Facilities Districts, enterprise finance, utility billing management, utility rate analyses and technical planning.
“I’m confident my experience in financial planning and customer service will benefit the residents of Buckeye,” Kauppi stated. “As the fifth fastest growing city in the country, I’m excited to be joining the city at a pivotal time.”
Mr. Kauppi has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting from Michigan Technological University and is a member of the national and state chapters of the Government Finance Officers Association.
Kauppi will report to City Manager Roger Klingler and will begin his duties with Buckeye on September 17.
