Go Inside Your Buckeye Police Department

Don’t miss out! Space is limited for the upcoming Buckeye Citizens Police Academy. The program starts Wednesday September 4, 2019, and runs six consecutive Wednesday evenings through October 9, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Coyote Branch Public Library. 

The program offers an up-close look into all aspects of local policing and the inner workings and activities of the Buckeye Police Department.    Mock SWAT exercise

Participants will learn from hands-on training, lectures and interactive classes. Instruction will come from experienced police officers, sergeants, crime scene investigators and detectives. 

The program explores Patrol Operations, Criminal Investigations, the School Resource Officer Program, K-9 Units, Traffic Investigations, SWAT Team logistics, Code Enforcement and the many ways volunteers can enhance and support Buckeye police. 

This opportunity also helps strengthen the already strong partnership between the Buckeye community and the police department. 

The academy is free; participants must live or work in Buckeye, have no felony arrests and be at least 18-years-old. Each applicant will be required to undergo a background check and will be informed by email or by phone as to whether the applicant has been accepted, denied or placed on a waiting list for a future class.
