Currently, Goodman is the Fossil Generation Training Manager for Arizona Public Service. In this role, Goodman is responsible for the leadership and technical training for six APS power plants in both Arizona and New Mexico.

Prior to joining APS, Goodman enjoyed a successful 25-year career at Estrella Mountain Community College retiring in 2015. At EMCC, Dr. Goodman served as Vice President of Academic Affairs, Vice President Occupational Education and Vice President Administrative Services.

He was instrumental in acquiring and remodeling the old Buckeye High School into the EMCC Buckeye Education Center. In addition, he played a key role in the facility design and programs for the WestMEC campus on Verrado Way.

“I’m pleased with the direction the city is headed,” Goodman said. “The Buckeye City Council and city management are working cohesively to ensure the city continues to grow while improving the quality of life for residents.”

Sixteen candidates applied for the vacant position. A Council sub-committee consisting of the three current Councilmembers not running for re-election, Mayor Meck, Vice Mayor Heustis and Councilman HagEstad, selected Goodman for the interim position.

Goodman’s term started at tonight’s meeting and will run through 2022.
