The Buckeye Police Department is bringing its popular Citizens Academy program to the Festival neighborhood. Citizens Academy is a free course that offers an inside look at police department operations with a mix of classroom lessons and hands-on exercises. Participants learn about police procedures related to patrol, criminal investigations, K9 units, traffic investigations, SWAT, code enforcement, and the volunteer program.

The next Citizens Academy starts September 26, 2024, with classes taking place for four consecutive Thursday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Festival Public Safety building located at 27360 W. Wagner Complex Dr. in Buckeye.
