BUCKEYE, AZ (December 15, 2024): Just after 4 p.m. on December 15, 2024, Buckeye police responded to a call of a shooting at a home near 254^th Ave and Carson Dr. When officers arrived, they issued commands for the occupants to exit the home. A woman in her 50s exited and was detained without incident. Officers then went inside the home and located a woman in her early 30s unresponsive and suffering a gunshot wound. Buckeye police brought her outside and began life-saving measures. Officers then located a third woman in her 70s inside the home with a handgun nearby. She was detained without incident.

Information gathered on scene suggests this was a domestic violence incident involving a grandmother, mother and granddaughter and that the grandmother shot the granddaughter. Despite life-saving attempts by first responders, the granddaughter died on scene.
