BUCKEYE, AZ (December 30, 2024): Buckeye police arrested a suspected carjacker while conducting a stolen vehicle investigation.

On Monday, December 23, 2024, Buckeye police received a notification from a license plate reader that a stolen pickup truck was in the area of Miller Rd and Pima St. Officers quickly located the vehicle, conducted a high-risk traffic stop and arrested the adult male driver. During the investigation, officers learned the driver is a suspect in a recent carjacking in California that resulted in the victim being hospitalized.

License plate readers, a component of the Buckeye Police Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC), assisted officers in making this arrest and helping further justice for the injured victim.
