Post Date:03/25/2025 4:27 p.m.

BUCKEYE, AZ (March 25, 2025): Today, Dan Cotterman officially resigned from his position as City Manager with the city of Buckeye. On Tuesday, March 18, the Buckeye Police Department was contacted by the Department of Child Safety about allegations against Buckeye City Manager Daniel Cotterman. That day, Buckeye police requested the Glendale Police Department assume the case to conduct an independent investigation and ensure a fair and impartial outcome. That investigation is ongoing.

The City of Buckeye is committed to transparency throughout this process and continuing to provide the best service to our community. During an Executive Council Session on March 21, Cotterman was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation. In that same meeting, Deputy City Manager David Roderique was designated as the Interim City Manager to ensure there is no interruption of city operations and services. The City of Buckeye is cooperating with the independent investigation being conducted by the Glendale Police Department.

Cotterman has not been arrested or charged with a crime. We recognize the need for answers and encourage our community to be patient as investigators gather the facts. Our priority is the prosperity and long-term success of our city.

For media inquiries, please contact the Glendale Police Department.
