BUCKEYE, AZ (April 15, 2025): Registration is now open for 2025 Spring Citizens Academy. In this free course, community members get an inside look at police department operations with a mix of classroom lessons and hands-on exercises. Participants learn about procedures for patrol, criminal investigations, K9 teams, traffic investigations, SWAT and code enforcement.
This year’s Spring Citizens Academy is seven consecutive Tuesdays from 6-8:30 p.m. starting May 13 through June 24 at the Buckeye Police Training Facility located at 8050 S. Shepards Trl.
To be eligible for this free program, you must live or work in Buckeye, have no felony arrests and be at least 18 years of age. Following a background check, you will be informed whether you move ahead to the academy or will be placed on a waitlist. You must be able to attend the entire course.
