Buckeye proudly joins the International Code Council and its 64,000 members in recognizing May as Building Safety Month.
This annual campaign raises awareness about the importance of building safety and highlights the essential role code officials play in ensuring our homes, businesses and public spaces are safe and sustainable.
Throughout May, city staff will host presentations and events across Buckeye to answer questions and discuss building safety and development. Join us at one of these locations:
- Wednesday, May 7 | 1 – 4 p.m. | Coyote Library | 21699 W. Yuma Rd.
- Saturday, May 10 | 8 a.m. – Noon | Lowe’s Home Improvement | 700 S. Watson Rd.
- Saturday, May 17 | 8 a.m. – Noon | Lowe’s Home Improvement | 700 S. Watson Rd.
- Wednesday, May 21 | 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Senior Center | 201 E. Centre Ave.
Our goal is to educate residents and businesses on the value of safe building practices, the importance of modern codes and the skilled professionals who help bring them to life.
In 2024, Buckeye’s Building Safety team issued more than 5,500 permits, reviewed over 7,300 plans and completed upwards of 59,000 inspections—working every day to keep our growing community safe.
