Suspect hospitalized after threatening ex-girlfriend and teen

scene with logoBUCKEYE, AZ (August 19, 2025): A suspect is hospitalized after ignoring an order of protection and showing up at his ex-girlfriend’s house with a gun. This led to a chaotic situation last night near Maricopa Rd and Sunset Point Blvd that ended with the suspect critically injured.

Just before 8:30 p.m. on August 18, Buckeye police received reports of shots fired on Shooting Star Ln. As officers were responding, police received a report of a crash in the area near Maricopa Rd and Sunset Point Blvd. Officers arrived at the crash scene and located an injured man in his 50s laying on the ground with a gun nearby. Officers provided aid until medical crews arrived to transport the man to the hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.

As the investigation unfolded, detectives learned the man had gone to his ex-girlfriend’s house on Shooting Star Ln and threatened her, violating an active order of protection. A teen male who lives in the home reported that he told the suspect to leave and the suspect shot at him before driving away in a truck. A short time later, the teen got into his own car and was leaving the area when he spotted the suspect’s truck. The teen reported that the suspect got out of the truck and pointed a gun at him. The teen ran over the suspect, injuring him.

The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
