BUCKEYE, AZ (September 2, 2025): A man is being booked into jail following an overnight shooting that left another man injured near Maricopa Rd. and Sunset Point Blvd.

Just after 1 a.m. this morning, Buckeye police responded to a shots fired call in a neighborhood near Maricopa Rd and Sunset Point Blvd. The victim said he was inside his SUV with a woman he met online when a man opened fire on the vehicle. The woman got out of the SUV, and the victim drove a short distance away to call 911. Officers located the victim who had a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Based on information gathered at the scene, police quickly located the woman at a nearby home. Investigators learned she lives at the home with a man in his 20s. The man was interviewed and later arrested on charges related to the shooting. His name will be released once he is booked into jail.
