City offices closed for Veterans Day holiday

People on top a summit placing a flag on a hikeIn observance of the Veterans Day holiday, all city offices, libraries and facilities will close on Tuesday, November 11. Regular business hours will resume at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12.

Trash and recycling services are not affected by this closure. Residents with service scheduled for Monday should place their containers on the street before 5:30 a.m.

Buckeye is hosting an event for outdoor enthusiasts. Join us for the annual Veterans Day Hike at Skyline Regional Park on Tuesday, November 11, at 8:30 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to gather at Skyline’s Mountain Wash Trail for a four-mile roundtrip hike to the summit, where an American flag will be posted in honor of those who have served our country - both past and present. Local veterans who wish to carry the flag to the summit should contact Buckeye Community Services at 623-349-6330 or via email at malvarez@buckeyeaz.gov.

The Mountain Wash hiking trail is rated as difficult. Participants are advised to bring water, sun protection and to wear closed-toed shoes. Registration is requested but not required.
