BUCKEYE, AZ (December 10, 2025): A man is in jail following a crash in downtown Buckeye that left a pedestrian critically injured.
Just after 4:30 p.m. yesterday, Buckeye police responded to a crash where it was learned a driver in a truck made a turn near 8th St and Monroe and hit a man walking in a cross walk. The victim was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. At last check, he is in critical condition but stable.
The suspect, a man in his 30s, was contacted by officers on scene. He was booked into jail for reckless driving and warrants for prior traffic violations. At this time, it does not appear that speed or impairment were factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
