- Dynamic message signs
- Transportation data and traffic management systems
The plan helps guide future investments and improvements to support Buckeye’s growing transportation network.
Why We Updated the Plan
Buckeye completed its first ITS Network Strategic Plan in 2018. Since then, Buckeye has experienced significant growth, and increased transportation demands across the community.
The 2026 update was developed to:
- Evaluate existing ITS infrastructure
- Identify future technology and communication needs
- Improve traffic operations and system coordination
- Support continued growth and future transportation planning
- Align with evolving transportation technologies and regional initiatives
The 2026 ITS Network Strategic Plan includes:
- Assessment of existing ITS infrastructure and systems
- Identification of future network and technology needs
- Recommendations for operational and communication improvements
- Long-term implementation strategies and investment priorities
This updated plan will help the city continue building a safe, efficient and connected transportation network for the future.
Community Participation
Public input is an important part of the planning process. Residents, businesses and stakeholders were encouraged to review the plan and submit comments during the 30-day public review period. The comment period closed on June 26, 2026.
