  • Fully reconstructed half-street along property frontages
  • A landscaped center median to beautify the area and improve roadway functionality

After careful research and community input a T-intersection was chosen for this project, this design was picked over a roundabout because of cost efficiency, time to build and the ability to handle Buckeye’s growth.

Starting in March 2026, we will begin a comprehensive roadway reconstruction project on Roosevelt, Edison and Eason streets between 4th St. and Miller Rd.

Project Scope and Timeline

To provide a smoother commute and better accessibility for all residents, this project includes:

• Full Roadway Reconstruction: A complete overhaul of the street surface for long-term durability.

• ADA-Compliant Curbs: Installation of new curbing to meet accessibility standards.

The project will be completed in three phases to minimize local disruption.

Phase 1: Roosevelt: March - May
Phase 2: Edison: May -July
Phase 3: Eason: July - October

While these streets will be closed to through traffic, residential access will be maintained throughout the project.

Trash & Recycling Service

To ensure your trash service is not interrupted during construction, please follow these guidelines:

• Have your containers at the curb by 5 a.m. on your scheduled service day

• Crews will manually relocate containers to the nearest accessible street for pickup and return them to your curb once emptied

• It is recommended to write your house number on your bins to ensure they are returned to the correct address

Project Fact Sheet

This project focuses on enhancing neighborhood safety and infrastructure upgrades along Acacia Way.

Project Overview

Chicanes were installed on Acacia Way. Chicanes are raised median islands and a traffic-calming measure to discourage speeding and cut-throughs. These can also help enhance safety for residents and pedestrians along Acacia way.

Project Timeline

The project started on March 7 and ended March 18, 2026. The bulk of the project was scheduled for completion during Spring Break.

The chicanes were installed in segments; Acacia was closed for two days within each phased area. Schedule as follows:

• Phase 1: Thayer to Springfield
  • March 7 - 8
• Phase 2: Springfield to Shadow
  • March 9 -10
• Phase 3: Lost Creek to Canyon
  • March 10 - 11
• Phase 4: Canyon to Summit

• MCDOT (Maricopa County) identified that a traffic signal was required for this intersection and contributed 25% of the cost
