2024 Building & Fire Code Update

The 2024 Construction Codes are effective for all new projects submitted on or after January 1, 2025.

Provisions for updating approved standard plans:

• Home builders who currently have standard plans approved under the 2018 codes will have until December 31, 2025, to update their plans to the 2024 codes.
• Small existing subdivisions (10 or fewer available lots) may continue to use the 2018 approved standard plans through the end of 2026.
• For subdivisions with 11 - 30 lots available, an appeal must be made in writing to the Building Official before October 1, 2025. The appeal must include justification, the number of lots remaining, sales projections and other required information. Successful appeals can use the 2018 approved plans until December 31, 2026.
