General Plan Amendments

Major General Plan Amendments are able to be heard by City Council once a year per Arizona Revised Statutes. For 2019, all Major General Plan Amendments must be submitted by June 1, 2019. Minor amendments may be heard at any point during the calendar year. For amendment criteria Section 1.8 of the Imagine Buckeye 2040 General Plan.

What is a Development Code?

The Buckeye Development Code 2010 (Amended 2018.08.07) is a regulatory document that provides direction on how development or redevelopment will occur within Buckeye. It acts as an incentive to promote economic development and attract business and industry while also promoting quality of life and creating a healthy community for residents. The Development Code is a key tool to implementing the revised General Plan, and requires periodic updating to adequately deal with the changes in scale of development in Buckeye.
