Housing Action Plan Community Meeting
Thank you to all who participated in the first community meeting for the Buckeye Housing Action Plan on May 12, 2025.
The meeting featured several informative and interactive boards and physical copies of the community questionnaire were available for input. Participants were also encouraged to submit feedback through comment cards or directly with staff to share their questions, hopes and expectations for Buckeye's Housing Action Plan.
Following the public meeting, Buckeye has finalized its Housing Action Plan. We would like to thank everyone who provided feedback; your input was instrumental in shaping the final version of this plan.
What is a Housing Action Plan?
Housing Action Plans are designed to address various challenges, such as rising housing costs, lack of housing diversity and the need for affordable options unique to each community. The Housing Action Plan will help understand Buckeye's current and projected housing conditions and provide officials with specific strategies to meet the community’s goals.
Key components:
- Comprehensive Analysis: Assessment of current housing needs, demographic trends and market conditions
- Community Engagement: Incorporation of input from stakeholders, residents and local experts
- Housing Strategies: Specific recommendations to encourage diverse housing types and increase supply
- Policy Review: Evaluation of existing policies, regulations and programs
- Implementation Guide: A roadmap for local government action and progress measurement
Public Involvement
Participate in the planning process and add your perspective. Opportunities for involvement will be available at various stages of the project. Whether you prefer attending in-person events or engaging online, there will be multiple ways for everyone to connect.
- Community Questionnaire: Thank you for providing your feedback through our community questionnaire. We are excited to get your feedback and will publish the results once ready.
- Public Meetings: Attend our upcoming public meetings to discuss housing issues and potential solutions. A public meeting is expected to take place in spring; additional details will follow.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Community representatives and small focus group meetings will be interviewed to discuss key topic areas that will be addressed in the Housing Action Plan.
- Website Updates: Check this page regularly for project updates, draft documents, and notices of upcoming events.
Your feedback helps identify specific housing challenges faced by Buckeye residents. Community input informs the creation and refinement of housing strategies tailored to Buckeye's unique needs. By participating in the process, you contribute to building community-wide support for the plan, which increases its chances of successful implementation.
