Buckeye is growing fast, and the way we deliver services has to grow with it. The city is exploring options for a new City Hall that will make it easier for residents and businesses to get things done in one place, support our staff with a modern workspace and plan wisely for the future.
Why Now
- Rapid Growth & Capacity: Our current facilities were designed for a much smaller city and are now reaching their limits.
- Scattered Services: Many city services are spread across multiple locations, which can be inconvenient for residents and businesses trying to get business done.
- Aging Facilities & Maintenance Costs: Older buildings require more frequent, costly repairs and are not energy efficient.
- Customer Service Experience: A purpose-built City Hall allows us to create a true “one-stop” experience with a better lobby layout, wayfinding and meeting spaces for residents, contractors and businesses.
- Accessibility & Safety: We need facilities that fully meet current accessibility standards and support modern safety and security needs for visitors and staff.
- Future-Ready & Technology-Enabled: Our current facilities weren’t designed for today’s technology or hybrid work, limiting our ability to serve the community efficiently.
A New City Hall Provides
- A One-Stop Service Center: Key services in one accessible location instead of multiple buildings.
- More Efficient Permitting & Business Support: Better spaces for plan review, development meetings and business licensing to support local employers.
- Community & Meeting Spaces: Flexible rooms for neighborhood meetings, workshops and public engagement.
- Modern, Efficient Building: Designed to be energy efficient, lower long-term operating costs and support technology.
- Space for Future Growth: Planning for what Buckeye will look like 10 to 20 years from now, not just today.
Where Are We in the Process
Buckeye is currently in the envisioning and engagement phase. Over the next several months, we’ll be listening to residents, businesses and staff through community workshops, focus groups, surveys and leadership sessions. This will help shape what a new City Hall should prioritize for Buckeye’s future.

Our Principles
Buckeye's design is guided by several core principles, starting with a service-first approach to simplify how citizens conduct business with us. We are also committed to being fiscally responsible by considering long-term costs, such as the potential savings from consolidating leases and improving energy efficiency. The new City Hall will be accessible and inclusive, ensuring it is welcoming to all community members and accessible to people of all abilities. The design is intended to anticipate growth and incorporating flexibility for work and technology. Finally, the entire process will be transparent & community-driven, with decisions based on input gathered from residents, businesses, staff and the City Council.
