The Buckeye Transportation Master Plan is a plan that will guide the city in the development of a comprehensive transportation network including streets, freight movement, rail, transit, airport, ITS, and active transportation (bike and pedestrian).
Why are we doing a Transportation Master Plan?
Buckeye is a growing community with an expanding population. In 2018, the city ratified the Imagine Buckeye 2040 General Plan, which included a framework for circulation in Buckeye. These policies within the General Plan provide the basis for the Transportation Master Plan
The Buckeye Transportation Master Plan is a collaborative planning effort between the city of Buckeye and Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG). This plan will coincide with the Buckeye Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, which is currently in progress.
The following will be explored as part of this planning process:
Existing street, rail, freight, airport, transit, active transportation and ITS facilities.
Future street, rail, freight, airport, transit, active transportation, and ITS facilities.
Identification of short-mid-and long-term projects to be constructed and their approximate costs.
Identification of potential funding opportunities and team partners for the implementation of the various projects within the plan.
