We're proud to unveil the Hometown Heroes Banner Program! This initiative celebrates the courage and sacrifice of our local military heroes.
Drive through downtown Buckeye and see the faces of those who've served. From May to July, banners featuring our brave service members and veterans will line Monroe Avenue.
Would you like to honor a family member or lost loved one who served in the military? To be eligible, an individual must be currently serving in the US Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard); or a veteran who was honorably discharged or given their life in service in the US Armed Forces. The individual must also be, or have been, a resident of Buckeye or their family must reside in Buckeye.
To accommodate light pole limitations on Monroe Avenue, we can feature up to 30 hometown heroes each year. Our selection process includes vetting all candidates and prioritizing those with high-quality image submissions. If your nominee isn't selected this year, and they meet our guidelines and submit a high-quality photo, their banner will be considered for the following year. If we do not have enough submissions for the current year, we reserve the right to randomly choose a banner from the previous year.
To nominate your hero, please fill out an online form. Please have your nominations submitted by March 1, 2026.
