Buckeye’s Social Services Program partners with Maricopa County Community Action Program and the Salvation Army, to assist residents during unexpected financial challenge. The program provides support that fosters self-sufficiency and stability through limited, temporary assistance with utility and eviction prevention, information and referral resources and short-term case management for residents.

Social Service walk-in hours are Tuesday, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
In order to receive Salvation Army assistance, these documents must be provided:
- Photo ID
- Bills, including back bills to a zero balance (last three months) and showing usage
- Proof of income
- Crisis statement (why assistance is needed, specific to Salvation Army assistance)
- Consent form, to be taken at time of intake
Office hours are to be used for:
- Submitting CAP Rental & Utility documents
- Technical assistance in applying on-line utilizing the CAP portal system
- Applying for Salvation Army Utility Assistance (limited assistance and spaces available on a first come, first serve basis)
- Please note: Utility Billing does not accept Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) applications.
Heat Relief Network
As higher temperatures begin to return to the Valley, the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) and the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) are launching the 2025 Heat Relief Network, a regional initiative aimed at preventing heat-related illnesses and deaths. The Heat Relief Network will provide free, cooled spaces and other resources to the public through September 30, offering critical support throughout the hottest months of the year.
