We are working with an outside company to address weeds throughout the cemetery. We expect to spray for weeks starting June 26, 2020. In order to have better results, we are not mowing grass in the older sections. We expect to return to a regular mowing schedule by July 1 or earlier.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
The Buckeye Fire-Medical-Rescue Department proudly operates and maintains the historic Louis B. Hazelton Memorial Cemetery. Originally established in 1938 by the American Legion Hazelton-Butler Post 53, it is named in the honor of the first young man from Buckeye who lost his life in World War I. In 1947, the Legion transferred the cemetery to what was then the Town of Buckeye, where it remains today.
The City of Buckeye seeks to provide quality, compassionate, and affordable burial services to its residents. To ensure we can offer this cemetery as an option for a final resting place, we enforce the city residency requirement for burials. To purchase a plot at the Louis B. Hazelton Memorial Cemetery, you must either (1) be a resident of the city of Buckeye; or (2) have immediate family members buried at our cemetery. Proof of residency will be requested.
