Buckeye Fire-Medical-Rescue Department (BFMRD) has taken on the task of reducing the life safety risks and monetary losses associated with juveniles involved in fire play. BFMRD has adopted a multi-level approach to the education and/or treatment of identified juveniles involved in fire setting behaviors. The program is adaptable for pre-school ages through teens. Participation in the program is voluntary except for those referred by juvenile authorities. The program consists of five parts, each phase has a unique role in the process, yet all are interconnected. The five parts are: identification, education, assessment, referral and follow-up. These services are offered free of charge to the citizens of Buckeye.
Referral is the key. We cannot make our community a safer place if those experimenting with fire play are not referred into the program. Please keep a watchful eye out and do not hesitate to contact us using the following forms.
